Overview

ShogunAI is an AI assistant for macOS that keeps all of your work on the local machine. The assistant pulls data from emails, collaboration tools, and meeting recordings, storing it in a private memory space on your PC. Users can try the program during a free seven‑day trial before deciding to continue.
The core workflow starts when you open an application and hold the right Option key. A small overlay appears, and the assistant reads the surrounding text, the chat thread you are in, or the document you are editing. It then offers to continue the sentence you have typed or to answer a question. The assistant can also be invoked via voice, pronouncing your spoken query and then providing a text reply inside the active window. For notes, you can simply speak during a meeting; ShogunAI records the audio, transcribes the words, and after the call ends it shows a written recap with next‑step bullet points that relate back to the participants and the original conversation.
Search is performed against the localized memory. Typing a keyword or dragging a time marker back into the tool brings up a list of relevant emails, notes, or past meeting exchanges. For instance, searching for a project code can return a Gmail draft, a Notion page, or a Slack message, all with a link to the original source. When the tool shows a daily schedule it pulls the previous day's calendar events, any drafted messages still in progress, and notes from ongoing projects. The morning overview also lists any changes that happened during the night and identifies items that still require action.
ShogunAI integrates with Gmail, Notion, GitHub, Google Meet, Figma, Dropbox, Slack, and others. Picking an active integration from the menu lets the assistant include that service's content in its memory. However, the tool does not yet list any APIs for custom plugins or external data sources, and it is not clear whether it can expose data programmatically to other tools.
The assistant is best suited for professionals who use multiple desktop apps and need a quick way to recall information without leaving the current context.
