Overview

Bloblings is a lightweight Mac drawer that attaches to the edge of your screen. Designed for Claude Code, it gives each coding session its own little pet. Every session gets a colorful Blobling that reacts to the session's activity, typing, running tests, reading files, or waiting for input.
The tool works by adding a tiny hook into Claude Code's desktop app and compatible terminal sessions. When a session uses a tool, the hook writes a short note to the local disk, containing a tool name and a brief description, such as a file name or Claude's own description of a command. The note is written in about ten milliseconds, so it does not slow down the agent. For each session a Blobling appears in the drawer, and if the session hands work to sub‑agents, the Blobling shows a small crew of heads below it. Each sub‑agent receives its own pet, model icon, and description of the current task, like “Read: Theme.swift.” The drawer also contains a “Subtasks” pill that appears while sub‑agents are running; clicking it folds or expands the list of helpers.
Bloblings is useful if you run several Claude Code sessions from a single Mac, whether in the Claude desktop app or in a terminal such as iTerm2. When a session needs your attention, whether it awaits your approval, a plan, or a simple click, the corresponding Blobling lights up and rises to the top of the drawer. A click on the Blobling switches the active window to the relevant thread in the correct project folder. This gives a quick visual cue of which sessions are active, completed, or waiting, and lets you jump straight to the place you need to focus.
Because Bloblings stores everything locally, nothing leaves your machine. The application is written in native Swift, has a 4.3 MB download size, and requires macOS 15 or later. No account or subscription is needed; the tool is available for free.
