Overview

Sourcery is an AI code reviewer for pull requests on GitHub and GitLab. It reviews every pull request within minutes, posting a summary, review comments and suggested fixes, whether the code was written by a teammate or a coding agent. Installation takes about two minutes and no credit card is needed to start.
What it catches
Sourcery looks for logic errors, missed edge cases and security issues in your changes, and explains each issue and how to fix it. The site shows real examples from open-source projects, including a misspelled JSON property in Presto that would break compatibility, a missing import in Nuitka that would raise an error, and double-encoded URLs in django CMS that would corrupt redirects. Each was fixed after Sourcery flagged it.
Review workflow
PR summaries and diagrams show what changed and where to focus. Suggested fixes can be committed directly to the pull request with one click. Custom review rules let you enforce your own standards, and Sourcery can auto-approve low-risk pull requests that have no blocking findings, so they can merge once CI passes. Security checks run on every pull request.
Pricing
Open-source public repositories are free forever. Pro, for private repositories, is $12 per developer per month billed annually or $15 monthly, with higher review limits and a Jira integration. Team is $24 per developer annually or $30 monthly and adds codebase security with nightly scans of 50 repositories, an issues dashboard, on-demand scans and team analytics. Enterprise adds self-hosting, GitHub Enterprise Server, SSO and bring-your-own LLM keys. A 14-day free trial of Team covers your whole organisation, and you only pay for developers assigned a seat.
Who it suits
Sourcery suits development teams of any size, open-source maintainers who want a second reviewer, and teams using AI coding agents who want automated checks on generated code.
Things to consider
AI review complements human review rather than replacing it. Watch how many comments are useful versus noise, and tune rules accordingly. Think carefully before enabling auto-approve, and limit it to genuinely low-risk changes. Check what code is sent for analysis; the Enterprise self-hosting option exists for organisations with strict requirements.
