Overview

AlianHub is an open-source project management system that can grow into an ERP. It is released under the AGPL-3.0 licence and can be self-hosted for free, with no per-seat pricing. Projects, tasks, time tracking, chat and reports sit in one workspace, and your data stays on your own server. The project is published by Alian Software, with code on GitHub and a public live demo.
AI agents with approvals
AlianHub's distinguishing feature is its AI agents, which do routine work inside the workspace while people approve the important steps. The demo shows a Priorities Manager agent that reads open tasks, writes a project digest and posts it as a comment, then proposes moving a blocked task. Proposals wait in an AI Inbox for review. Every run has a log, actions can be undone, and the workspace shows each agent's monthly spend against a budget.
Skills and autonomy levels
Agents are built from skills in a skill library. For example, an intake skill reads a task brief and proposes subtasks with time estimates and open questions. Skills can run as dry runs, previewing what they would do without writing anything. Each agent has an owner and an autonomy level. These range from L0, which only answers questions, through L1, which suggests changes, and L2, which acts on low-risk items, to L3, which can also run on a schedule. Users can also ask questions across all the projects they have access to.
Other features
Beyond the agents, AlianHub provides dashboards with cards for project health, tasks by status, logged versus estimated time and free capacity. It also offers integrations and community resources. You can bring your own AI provider, which keeps model costs under your control.
Things to consider
Self-hosting means your team is responsible for installing, updating, backing up and securing the server. The AGPL licence has obligations if you modify the software and offer it to others over a network. The site notes that some parts are still being expanded, so it's worth trying the live demo to check that the current feature set fits your workflow before migrating projects.
