Overview

Manus is a general-purpose AI agent. You give it a goal ("research the top meal-kit companies and build a comparison deck", "make a landing page for my bakery") and it plans the steps, browses, writes, codes and hands back a finished result. The company recently launched Manus 2.0 under the tagline "less structure, more intelligence."
The homepage groups what it does into a few kinds of output: slides, websites, games, video, images, music and design. A feature called Wide Research runs many research threads in parallel for large tasks, such as reviewing dozens of companies at once. Manus also connects to Slack, has a browser feature called My Browser, a web app, desktop and mobile apps, an API, and team features including SSO.
Credits, not messages
Manus's documentation explains that every task consumes credits, and how many depends on the task's complexity and the resources it needs. A quick question costs far less than a multi-hour research job, and the docs recommend using Chat mode for simple queries and writing specific prompts to avoid wasted iterations. Your dashboard shows the current balance, usage history and low-balance alerts.
Plans
There's a free plan for trying it out, then paid plans that differ mainly in credits:
- An entry plan with 4,000 credits a month plus 300 refresh credits every day, 20 concurrent tasks and 20 scheduled tasks.
- A customisable tier starting at 8,000 credits a month.
- A heavy-use tier with 40,000 credits a month.
Annual billing saves 17%, and there are separate Team and Enterprise plans with a shared credit pool and admin controls. The public pricing page didn't render dollar amounts in our check, so see manus.im/pricing for current prices. Checked October 2026 on manus.im and the Manus documentation.
Who it suits
Analysts, founders and marketers with multi-step jobs they'd otherwise piece together across a search engine, a doc editor and a slide tool. If you mostly ask single questions, a regular chatbot is cheaper.
Pros: produces finished deliverables, not just answers; parallel research for big jobs; scheduled tasks and Slack integration.
Cons: credit cost per task is hard to predict up front; long autonomous runs still need a human check of sources and numbers; pricing details sit behind the interactive page.
Alternatives
Genspark and Kimi offer similar agent workspaces. For automating workflows between your existing apps, Zapier is the more established route.
