Overview

AskYourDatabase is an AI tool for chatting with SQL databases. It turns questions about your data into SQL queries, answers and charts. It comes as two separate products: a desktop app for your own analysis and a website chatbot you can embed for your users. Private deployment is available as an enterprise option.
Desktop app
The desktop app for Windows and macOS is for analysts, operations teams and business users. You connect from your computer, ask a question, inspect the generated SQL and results, then ask follow-ups or request a chart. Your computer needs access to the database. The company notes clearly that local connections don't mean offline AI: questions and the necessary response data can reach a model provider through its AI gateway.
Website chatbot
Product teams can configure a chatbot connected to approved data and integrate it into a website or customer portal. The company advises planning authentication and user-level data access before rollout, and testing that each user can only retrieve records they are allowed to see.
How it works
First, connect approved data with a database account limited to the tables or reporting views you need, starting with read-only permissions for analysis. Guides cover PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, BigQuery, Snowflake and other engines. Second, explain your business terms, such as revenue, active customers, date ranges and table relationships, and add verified SQL examples and schema context. Third, compare the first answers with a trusted report and check filters, joins and totals before using them for decisions.
Pricing
The desktop Ultimate plan is $49 per seat a month, billed monthly, with unlimited access to the models it lists. The website chatbot Scale plan is $149 a month with 1,000 questions included, up to 6 chatbots, a dashboard builder and your own branding, with extra questions at $0.15 each. Larger plans and yearly billing are available.
Things to consider
The site's own advice is sound: use read-only, least-privilege database accounts, verify generated SQL and results, and test access controls carefully before exposing data to customers. Check your data protection obligations, since data passes to model providers.
A comparison page against BlazeSQL and a product walkthrough are available on the site.
