Overview
Magnific started out as an AI image upscaler, and the name now covers much more. Freepik, the stock content company, has rebranded as Magnific, so magnific.com is now Freepik's full AI creative platform with the upscaler built in. The original standalone service is still reachable as a legacy site at magnific.ai.
What the platform includes
- Image: generator, editor, upscaler, extender, background remover, relight and change-camera tools.
- Video: generator, project editor, video upscaler, clip editor, lip-sync ("Speak") and video relight.
- Audio: text to speech, sound effects and music.
- 3D: 3D scenes, a 3D generator and 360 views.
- Spaces: a shared canvas for building workflows with your team, plus a Designer tool.
- Stock: the former Freepik library of more than 250 million photos, vectors, illustrations, icons, videos, templates, mockups and fonts.
Models include Magnific One, Seedream, Seedance, Nano Banana and Kling, and Magnific connects to Claude and ChatGPT through MCP, to Photoshop and Figma through plugins, to ComfyUI, and to developers through an API. Magnific says it has more than 1 million subscribers.
Prices
Individual plans from the official pricing page, checked October 2026 (prices exclude VAT; annual billing saves 25%):
- Premium: $20 a month, or $14.50 a month billed annually. 240K credits a year with no monthly resets, Spaces, stock assets and a commercial AI licence.
- Premium+: $45, or $33.75 a month annually. 600K credits a year, unlimited generations on selected models, music rights, and both the Magnific and Topaz upscalers.
- Pro Starter: $110, or $82 a month annually. Everything in Premium+ with 1.5M credits, and higher tiers up to 4M.
Team plans are listed separately. Magnific says it doesn't train models on your data. Full details at magnific.com/pricing.
Who it suits
Designers, agencies and studios who want generation, upscaling and a huge stock library in one subscription. If you only want the upscaler, look at the legacy magnific.ai service or a dedicated upscaler.
Pros: the well-known upscaler plus a full creative suite; big stock library included; yearly credits that don't reset monthly.
Cons: the rebrand is confusing; plans cost more than single-purpose tools; credit costs vary a lot by model.
Alternatives
Let's Enhance and Upscayl focus only on upscaling. Krea is another multi-model suite with an enhancer.
