Overview

WebQuery is a web app that lets you hold a conversation with any link. You register one or more article URLs, the app reads their content, and you can then ask questions that ChatGPT answers based on what those articles say. The site is available in English, Japanese and German.
How it works
There are three steps. First, upload the link or links of the articles you want information about; you can enter several at once and give the group a name you will recognise. Second, wait for registration to finish while the app reads the pages and creates a group of articles. This can take a little time, and you can check the status in the app. Third, enter any question about the articles, and the AI answers using their content.
You can ask as many questions as your plan allows for registered articles and come back to them later, because past conversations are saved in your history.
Why use it
The idea is to get the information you need from long articles when time is short. Instead of reading everything, you can ask for the main points, a specific figure, a definition or a comparison between several sources. It can also give a new angle on a text by answering follow-up questions.
Pricing
The free Basic plan includes history, up to five article groups, up to 10 links per upload and up to 300 questions per month. Premium costs 10 US dollars per month and offers unlimited article registrations, up to 50 links per upload and up to 2,000 questions per month.
Who it is for
It suits students and researchers working through reading lists, analysts following news, and anyone who reads many long web articles for work.
Things to consider
Answers depend on the app being able to read the page, so paywalled or script-heavy sites may not work. AI answers can miss details or misread a source, so check important points in the original article, especially before citing them. Do not upload links to private or confidential documents unless you are comfortable with them being processed by a third-party AI service. General AI chat tools now offer similar link reading.
